Are you toying with the idea of changing your bathromm sink for a vanity unit. You could do worse as these types of units will provide you with lots more storage space, which isnt a bad thing. This is not too dificolt to accomplish and should not really take more than a day to do. However, if you are not too sure you can always calla professional like a . With the old sink unit removed and the water isolated:


Measure and note all connections and trace the positions on the rear of the vanity unit. Place the vanity over the lines and up against the supporting wall. Confirm the unit is sits level/square and secure it.
You can now connect the spout, water valves and handles to the vanity sink unit and link the water supply ‘T’ and hose onto the spout. Connect the water supply pipes to the valves, to stop the need for awkward work underneath later. Run plumber’s putty around the drain fitting to seal and secure the fitting in the drain hole. Place a washer and slip nut onto the bottom and tighten. Fit the drain stopper coupling with its gasket so it aligns with the back of the sink unit. Push the stopper’s slip arm up through the sink and connect it to the coupling. Now, press the stopper fully open and do the arm up tight. Raise the sink up and sit it in the vanity cabinet. With adhesive, fit a threaded adapter coupling onto the drain stub. Fit the trap and then screw it to the adapter and the drain for the sink. Tighten the sink water feed pipes to their isolator valves. Very slowly open the isolator, checking for leaks.

Fill up the sink with water, check for leaks, especially around the drain. Drain the water and check the waste pipework joints. This will also put water in the trap to make sure there are no sewer gases. Seal the sink rim.
